Riyadh International Book fair has been successfully launched today, 13th of March and is to be held until Saturday, the 23rd of March.
The fair endeavours to promote local reading culture through organizing varies workshops, seminars, and activities and it witnesses the participation of over 912 Saudi, Arab and foreign publishing houses representing 30 countries.
For the first time, the event will be honoring seven leading Saudi filmmakers: Saad Khadr, Ibrahim Al Qadi, Khalil Al Rawaf, Saad Al Freih, Abdullah Al Muhaisen, Haifa Al Mansour and Ibrahim Al Hasawi.
“The Kingdom of Bahrain” is the guest of honor - this year - through the participation of the Bahrain Culture and Antiquities Authority highlighting the rich and amazing cultural production in terms of topics and areas and such a participation is definitely promoting and exchanging cultural and intellectual integration among their intellectuals, authors, readers, and its thinkers.
It is worth mentioning that the exhibition is specifying a pavilion to the Saudi authors whom have not had the opportunity to publish their works, in an attempt to allow them to display and market their books.
The book fair is to open daily from 10 am to 10 pm except for Fridays: from 4 pm to 10 pm.
