Europe Day 2019 celebrated around the world – EU Delegations Europe Day, observed annually on 9 May, celebrates peace and unity in Europe. Celebrate Europe Day 2019 at the European institutions with the annual Open Day in Brussels on 4 May, in Luxembourg on 9 May and in Strasbourg on 19 May. Local EU offices in Europe and all over the world also organize a variety of activities and events for all ages.

National Gardening Week 2019

Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) is the most diverse book fair in the region. Abu Dhabi is a driving force behind the professional and commercial development of the regional publishing industry and is committed to the long-term expansion of the global book business. Inaugurated 29 years ago by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Fair has gained a global reputation as a leading literary trade and cultural event in the region. Running from April 24 - 30, 2019, ADIBF aims to highlight the UAE’s rich heritage, showcasing its authenticity and modernity, as well as its cultural and literary output.

The International Prize for Arabic Fiction (IPAF) is an annual literary prize, which debuted in 2007 in Abu Dhabi, United Arabs of Emirates, with the support of the Booker Prize Foundation. It aims to reward superior contemporary Arabic creative writing and to encourage the readership of high-quality Arabic literature internationally.

National Library Week recognizes the enormous value we receive from our libraries every day. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. Not only do libraries provide us with books to read, but they are valuable tools and resources.
